Ogilvy & Mather Cape Town claims Agency of the Year 2013

CAPE TOWN, November 29, 2013 – Ogilvy & Mather Cape Town (O&M CT) was named the Advertising Agency of the Year at the annual Financial Mail AdFocus Awards held in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, this week (Wednesday, 27 November).

The accolade caps an outstanding 2013 for the agency, with multiple local and international awards for digitally-led campaigns, including Cape Town Tourism’s Send Your Facebook Profile to Cape Town and Volkswagen’s Street Quest.

O&M CT MD, Luca Gallarelli paid tribute to the agency’s staff saying that “this accolade really belongs to the people of our agency and is a fantastic acknowledgment of their hard work over the last number of years. But the spirit of Divine Discontent runs deep, so while we’ll enjoy this moment, tomorrow we refocus and continue pushing forward.”

Speaking at the AdFocus ceremony, branding expert Andy Rice noted that “you have to have the right clients in order to have the right work” adding that O&M CT’s longstanding relationship with Volkswagen is a shining example of true partnership – a sentiment Gallarelli firmly agrees with.

“The journey to reach this point has been a truly collaborative one – without our clients’ commitment and support this award wouldn’t have been possible,” stated Gallarelli.

The Ogilvy & Mather group won two additional AdFocus awards with Ogilvy Public Relations bagging Specialist Agency of the Year and Ogilvy Africa being named African Agency Network of the Year.
