Gloo@Ogilvy named Digital Agency of the Year at AdFocus 2015

Celebrating a year of remarkable achievements, Gloo@Ogilvy – Ogilvy & Mather (O&M) South Africa’s full service digital and customer agency – was announced Digital Agency of the Year at the annual Financial Mail AdFocus Awards last night in Rivonia, Johannesburg.

The AdFocus Awards, which recognises the best in South African communications, is renowned for its holistic approach to examining criteria: New Business and Growth; Business Retention and Relationships; Training and Industry Recognition; and Empowerment/Social Responsibility – entrants are assessed on all of these factors before the panel reaches a decision.

Ben Evans, Managing Director of the Digital Portfolio at O&M South Africa, said: “We are delighted to be recognised at this year’s awards, as it not only serves as an acknowledgement of our work – but also highlights the focus on people, new capabilities, client and new business growth that the team has worked extremely hard to achieve.”

To say that it has been a good year for Gloo@Ogilvy would be somewhat of an understatement.

One year on since the merger between OgilvyOne and Gloo Digital Design and (and 10 years since Gloo was founded), Gloo@Ogilvy has added a number of prestigious statues to its award shelf. In addition to last night’s win, the agency was awarded a Grand Prix at this year’s Loerie Awards and a Gold at the Apex Awards – the only digital agency in the country to achieve this in 2015. It was also awarded ‘Agency of the Year’ at the Assegai Awards held earlier this month, and was the only digital agency in South Africa to take home a Lion at the Cannes Lions Festival 2015.

“It has been journey,” says Pete Case, Chief Creative Officer of O&M South Africa and the original founder of Gloo Digital Design, “but ultimately the decision to join forces has paid off.

“We believe that the Twin Peaks approach – that of striving towards creative excellence and strategic effectiveness – is critical to developing breakthrough creativity while delivering on our clients’ business objectives.”

Concludes Evans: “Our achievements this year have been testament to the quality and dedication of our people across the business.”

“We are absolutely thrilled with last night’s win, which serves to highlight our ongoing commitment to providing leading digital and customer solutions for our clients, and we look forward to continuing the momentum in 2016.”
